Celebrating 5 Years of LCWINS

💫 5 Years of LCWINS! Last night was so very special as we gathered for the LCWINS Anniversary Gala to commemorate five years of impactful work. It was a wonderful evening, surrounded by LCWINS members, alumnae, and supporters - all of whom I admire greatly. Together, we honored our founders, recognized exceptional public servants, and reflected on half a decade of bipartisan efforts dedicated to advancing gender parity in senior U.S. national security and foreign policy leadership. We were so lucky to have Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks as our keynote speaker, and former Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman and former Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen as our co-hosts.

It was a privilege to witness the recognition of the 2024 LCWINS award recipients: former Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland, former Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Michèle Flournoy, and former Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence Sue Gordon. The dedication and contributions made by these glass-shattering women have been exemplary, and I was grateful for the opportunity to applaud their achievements in person together. Thanks to Emily Perkins, the Executive Director of LCWINS, and Board Chair Jamie Jones Miller for their leadership in pulling off this fabulous event.

LCWINS continues to be at the forefront of empowering women in national security, and I am honored to have been a part of these important efforts for all five years. Looking forward to many more years of progress and success in advancing gender equality. Let that glass continue to shatter!
