Creating spaces for women to support each other is essential in order to drive real change when it comes to making sure more women succeed in leadership roles.
Uplifting one another is not just empowering—it’s necessary.
I’m privileged to be part of the Journey To Lead community— a community that is doing just that.
As a woman in a traditionally male-dominated industry, I was proud to share my insights and successes with the new JOURNEY class in DC recently.
Most of these women, like me, have been the only woman at the table for the majority of our careers.
Its programs like JOURNEY, and the experiences that I have had with organizations like LCWINS and #DACOWITS that have shaped who I am along my personal and professional journeys— and given me a community of women to depend on for advice and support.
There shouldn’t be just one woman at the table—there should be many.
And if you are the one- own it, thrive, and don’t forget to lift others with you.
